Hi All,
Need an honest advice. I have 8.5 years of total experience in IT industry. My primary skill set is Oracle PL/SQL. Apart from that I have worked on Oracle Forms & reports, Unix and also little bit on Informatica. I am currently working as a Project Lead for an application support and enhancement project.
My question is that is it worth to learn big data and analytics now and switch to different profile altogether. Would it be possible for me, given my vast experience to switch to a big data job at this point of time? Will recruiters consider my profile for a big data job if I complete some big data certification? Also, even if they consider my profile what salary would they willing to offer me as I would be fresher for that profile? Would it not be better for me to move to project management side by earning PMP and other quality certifications.
